Associate Professor Tania Lewis is a Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow in the School of Media and Communication. She worked as a medical practitioner in NZ before retraining in the humanities. She has taught in media studies and cultural studies and has conducted research and published across a wide variety of areas. She has held Research Fellowships at the University of Melbourne, Monash and La Trobe University and has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. Her recent research has focused on lifestyle, consumption and modernity; global TV formats (with a particular focus on reality and lifestyle TV in Asia); ethical consumption; and cultural approaches to sustainability.
